About this Attraction

Nestled in the scenic hills of Inagi, just about 35 minutes from Shinjuku, Yomiuriland is Tokyo’s largest amusement park that delivers excitement all year round . Home to over 40 attractions, it appeals equally to thrill-seekers and families . The highlight for coaster fans is Bandit, a 1,560-meter-long terrain coaster built in 1988 by TOGO that once held the world speed record at 110 km/h and slices through cherry blossoms during spring’s hanami—earning it the title of fastest flower-viewing ride in Japan .

Spring brings around 1,000 cherry trees, making Yomiuriland a must-visit spot for hanami, whether strolling paths or soaring on the Sky Shuttle gondola . Come summer, the park transforms into Pool WAI, a tropical oasis featuring five pools, eight water slides, a lazy river, and a chic night-pool ambiance with music and lighting . For families, the interactive Goodjoba!! zone champions “monozukuri” culture, offering hands-on workshops in automotive assembly, stationery, instant noodles, and more

Then, from autumn into spring, Jewellumination lights up the park in a spectacle of millions of LED gems, complete with fountain and laser shows, romantic coaster rides through illuminated canopies, and sparkling views from the Ferris wheel . Beyond attractions, Yomiuriland includes diverse dining—from casual crepes and popcorn to Starbucks by the pool—and shops offering souvenirs, Studio Ghibli goods, and themed items from Goodjoba

Operating since March 19, 1964, and owned by Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings, the park is easily accessed via Keio or Odakyu lines plus the scenic gondola  With something for everyone across seasons—coasters that thrill, pools that refresh, workshops that intrigue, and lights that enchant—Yomiuriland stands as a dynamic playground blending excitement, culture, and seasonal beauty on Tokyo’s doorstep.
