Learning about the Bo tree, believed to be a sapling from the original tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, deepened my appreciation for the temple’s sacred aura.

Weherahena Temple is open from 7 am to 6 pm, welcoming visitors to explore its wonders. I recommend visiting in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Dress modestly to respect the temple's sanctity, and don’t forget to remove your shoes before entering the premises. Photography is allowed but should be done respectfully.
