About this Attraction
Okinawa World (おきなわワールド) is a unique theme park that immerses visitors in the rich cultural and natural heritage of Okinawa. Located in the southern part of Okinawa Island, the park is best known for its spectacular Gyokusendo Cave, a massive underground wonder stretching five kilometers in total. With 850 meters open to the public, this breathtaking limestone cave features an awe-inspiring landscape of stalactites and stalagmites formed over hundreds of thousands of years. The path is well-maintained, safe, and beautifully lit, making it accessible and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
Beyond the cave, Okinawa World offers a vibrant craft village (Kingdom Village) where traditional Okinawan arts come to life. Guests can watch artisans at work or even participate in hands-on experiences like Ryukyu glass blowing, pottery, and weaving. This interactive village is an excellent place to learn about local culture and craftsmanship.
Another fascinating attraction is the snake museum (Habu Park), which showcases the native habu snakes and educates visitors about their role in Okinawan folklore and medicine. Live shows and displays provide both entertainment and education.
Throughout the park, you’ll find performances of the Eisa dance—a traditional Okinawan drum dance that fills the air with energy and rhythm. Visitors can also savor local delicacies, shop for souvenirs, and experience the distinct blend of nature and culture that defines Okinawa.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, history lover, or cultural explorer, Okinawa World offers a one-of-a-kind experience that combines underground adventures with ancient traditions—all in one exciting destination.
