About this Attraction

Nestled deep within the lush landscapes of Nuwara Eliya, Moray Falls is one of Sri Lanka’s most captivating natural wonders. The 40-meter cascade, hidden within the Moray Estate, is a sight to behold, gracefully tumbling down in three distinct segments. As I arrived at the base of the falls, the sound of rushing water and the cool mist on my skin made me feel completely immersed in nature’s serenity.

A Journey Through Nature’s Beauty

The adventure to Moray Falls was as breathtaking as the destination itself. Passing through rolling tea plantations, misty mountain paths, and the towering peaks of the Samanala Mountain Range, I could feel the tranquillity of the untouched wilderness surrounding me. The dense greenery, fresh mountain air, and occasional sightings of exotic birds made the journey an experience in itself.

A Perfect Harmony of Waterfalls

Standing beside Moray Falls, I couldn’t help but notice another stunning cascade nearby—Sri Pada Falls, also known as Adam’s Peak Falls or Gartmore Falls. Both waterfalls descend majestically, eventually feeding into the Maskeliya Reservoir below. The synergy between these two waterfalls, set against the backdrop of the Samanala Range, created an awe-inspiring natural spectacle.

A Serene Retreat into the Wild

As I sat by the base of Moray Falls, watching the water tumble effortlessly into the Muskeliya Reservoir, I felt a deep sense of peace. The intertwining streams, the fresh mountain breeze, and the lush green canopy made me forget the outside world, offering a retreat into pure, untamed nature.
