About this Attraction
On January 26, 2025, I had the chance to visit the newly opened Eagle's Viewpoint in Shantipura, Nuwara Eliya. Shantipura is the highest village in Sri Lanka, at an elevation of 7,339 feet above sea level. As I made my way to this spectacular location, I couldn't help but be excited about what awaited me.
The Scenic Beauty
The viewpoint exceeded my expectations, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Uva Province, Pidurutalagala, Haggala, Gregory Lake, and even landmarks like Adam’s Peak and the Sapthakanya Mountain Range. The cool mountain air and the stunning scenery provided an unforgettable experience. The neatly manicured tea bushes and distant blue hills added a magical charm to the landscape.
The view itself felt like a masterpiece painted by nature. I took countless pictures, but none could fully capture the serene beauty of the place.
