Mirissa’s peak season is between December and March, as this is generally the driest time of the year in Sri Lanka’s southern province. With plenty of sunshine and minimal rainfall, these months are the best for enjoying the beach, whale watching, and water activities.
January, February, and March are the driest months, making them perfect for outdoor activities. April and May tend to be the hottest months, but the increase in temperature leads to higher chances of rainfall. July and August also experience relatively low rainfall, but the weather can still be unpredictable due to Sri Lanka’s two monsoon seasons.
